about the company

Company History
Bobby “Sugar” Hinds founded LifelineUSA in 1973 on one simple product, his famous beaded jump rope.
Known as the “Jump Rope King”, Bobby traveled across the United States promoting the benefits of his perfectly balanced, smooth-action-high-speed rope. He set records, created spectacles and when he wasn’t on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show he was jumping alligators in Louisiana.
The ambitious founder took his jump rope from a back yard factory to being the hottest fitness product in Sears and JC Penney in 1976. His jump rope even made it onto the back of 12 million boxes of Wheaties…twice!
Lightning continued to strike as Hinds took his newest invention, the Lifeline Portable Gym, into full production in 1977 and set the stage for Lifeline’s growth to date. With over 70 unique products, many carrying patents, Lifeline had record years in 2007 and again in 2008.
New Growth
With recent additions to the Lifeline team including; engineers, creative consultants, web developers, designers and even a new CEO, Lifeline is brimming with talent. The ‘Top Secret Product Vault' is filled with product concepts, at various development stages, that promise to improve and revolutionize the fitness world over, and over again in the coming months and years!
What Makes Lifeline Unique?
The staggering 10% of gross revenue that Lifeline invests in R&D manifests itself in products that are as smart as they are simple.
Step 1
We start with a fitness goal and look at the best ways to reach it.
Step 2
We identify existing products that try to help you reach the goal.
Step 3
We look at ways to improve or replace the existing products altogether.
Step 4
We take the prototype and maximize its value by making sure it works well, lasts ‘forever’ and costs as little as possible.
Step 5
Test, test and test some more! We send working prototypes out to our affiliates (professional trainers, physiologists and office staff) who put the product through its paces and either give it their stamp of approval or send it back for more work.
Step 6
We make it available to you!
